Jailer 2 Advance Booking Crosses ₹10 Crore in Tamil Nadu — Rajinikanth Eyes ₹100 Crore Opening
Superstar Rajinikanth is on a rampage at the box office before Jailer 2 has even released. The sequel has crossed ₹10 crore in Tamil Nadu advance booking for its opening day.
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, more than 3,300 shows are scheduled across the state, with over 500 already reporting houseful status. Chennai alone has contributed ₹4.80 crore across 1,000+ shows — nearly half of the state's total.
Worldwide, day-one advance sales have crossed ₹55 crore, and with spot bookings still to come, trade watchers expect the film to close in on a ₹100 crore global opening.
The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial, produced by Sun Pictures, follows 2023's Jailer, which amassed ₹650 crore worldwide. The sequel stars SJ Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Vidya Balan and Mithun Chakraborty, with Hrithik Roshan and Mohanlal appearing in cameos.
One cloud hangs over the release: the dubbed Hindi version will not screen at PVR INOX or Cinepolis multiplexes, following a dispute over the film's four-week OTT window.
Jailer 2 releases worldwide on October 15, with fans already performing special pujas for its success.
