Ivanka Trump’s fashion brand was announced for the first time in September 2011 and it was made to provide affordable professional-wear options for women. Since the moment it was announced lots of people really loved it, so when Ivanka Trump announced on July 24, 2018 that the fashion brand would be shutting down there was a lot of people completely shocked.
But even though the fashion brand was very popular, it had lots of up and downs that fans that payed close attention was able to notice. So, if we take this in count it isn’t weird that the brand experienced a major downfall.
An announcement changed everything
Ivanka Trump announced her clothing line in September 2011, and in the beginning everything was going pretty good. The things started to get complicated in 2015, year when her billionaire father announced his bid for presidency of the United States; and three years later it was announced that the clothing line was shutting down for good.
Even though Ivanka Trump has always appear to be very close to her father (in fact, her siblings admitted that she is her father’s favorite child), in 2015 she was asked in an interview if she was happy with the announcement of her father and her response was simply: “Well, that’s a complicated question”.
Maybe Ivanka never thought that her father really had a chance of winning the election and becoming the President of the United States, but it’s pretty clear that she never considered the amount of scrutiny that the presidency of her father could do to her family and her business.
